YOUR MIND IS NATURALLY DESIGNED TO MOVE MOUNTAINS.
just like a plane is designed to fly, but won’t go anywhere without a skilled pilot, so your mind can rise to great heights with a skilled operator. Your mind, yes, YOUR MIND is what Shapes, Shifts and Forms Energy from ‘Insight’ out.
ITS EASIER TO RECONDITION THE MIND THAN TO DO PUSH UPS
For many of us, the mind is a much-neglected muscle that’s fallen into disuse. The good news is that we can recondition it. Why would you want to do that? Because the benefits are huge! It will help you tune into its immense power, which is freely available to each and every one of us
IT IS SO AMAZINGLY EASY! NO YOGA POSTURE NEEDED
One of my favorite simple-to-use tools is ancient and yet it’s an absolutely brilliant application for busy lives and modern day use. It’s a kinda like a pleasing, high-frequency ditty humming along in the background of your mind. If you have ever taken a Yoga class you may have come across the term, ‘Mantra.’
IS IT MAGIC?
A Mantra by definition is a practical tool that exercises the mind. Some folks believe that there’s a magical, sacred, significance within the (mantra), words or sounds. This is because over the ages these mantras are said to have accumulated uplifting vibrations from the millions of devoted, spiritual people who have vocally (or mentally) repeatedly chanted the mantra. It is true, that many do believe that within each mantra there are powerful, psychological and spiritual energies that elevate the frequencies of the mind that tunes into the mantra.
TOOLS ONLY WORK IF YOU USE THEM
My suggestion would be to consider a mantra a mental tool. Like any tool, it only works if you use it. Mantras are universal, mental fitness exercises. Similar to the all-in-one fitness machine for the body. A mantra is to the mind, what physical exercise is to tone the body. The more a mantra is used, the more it strengthens the mind’s ability to calm down, think clearly, imagine and focus attention. Like any exercise, using a mantra gives the mind a change of pace which also relieves stress and anxiety.
A MANTRA GIVES THE MIND A BREAK
The more you use a mantra, the greater the definition and ability you have to sculpt and define the collective power of the mind. Instead of stressful thoughts sprinting through the mind, one is more able to leisurely sift through the passing parade; with time to select or reject the positive or negative thought form. We honestly cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought, because with every thought we choose we are creating and designing our future life experiences.
HERE’S AN EASY MANTRA FOR BEGINNERS AND EXPERTS ALIKE
One of the easiest and profound Mantras is the “So-Hum” mantra. I like to think of it as an “I Am” affirmation. Here’s how it works. As you breathe in mentally “So……” Then on the exhale quietly within say, “Hum”. At first, while you are learning it will require a little of your focus and attention. Concentrate on ‘So’ breath in; ‘Hum’ breath out. It’s really that simple. Very soon the mantra and rhythmic breathing will meld, become one and eventually with enough persistence and practice it will calmly and quietly run continuously like a soft, soothing perpetual melody in the background of your mind.
Here’s what my Guru, Pujya Sri Swamiji says: “To purify the mind, not only is it essential to recite the mantras as dictated by the scriptures for this purpose, but it is also equally important to distance oneself from mental and verbal sins.”- His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, Glimpses of Bhakti Mala-IV, Cleanliness / Purity (Dec ’83)
