Take for example a trip to the beach. For me, it is like being on holiday whenever I go to the beach. (A holiday
is a whole or holy day.) Here’s how to experience the power in paying attention at the beach. As you watch the waves, listen to the soft harmony of them rolling towards the beach. Feel the powerful energy as each wave takes its turn to rise and splash in millions of frothy bubbles spreading across the smooth sand. That powerful Energy moving through the ocean waves is also animating you. Feel it in your heart beat. Savor the Energy with each breath as fresh, sea air flows in a similar continuous harmony as the waves. Breathing in and releasing. Notice all the rhythms of life. Sunrise, sunset, Day, night. This relentless Energy flows through you, me as well as everybody and everything you experience.
‘The sun illumines the whole world. In the same way, Brahman, (Supreme Being, God Source Energy), Which is immanent in all, illumines the whole world. ‘ – His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji.
When I am fully aware of the Power in Paying Attention I notice wheels within wheels. By that I mean, the more ‘present’ I am, the richer my experience. I become conscious that I am an inclusive part of One Energy. As such I am assured that everything is going to be alright. Nature’s vast abundance is constantly reminding us all that there is no lack. Every day the sky represents a clear canvas that offers a panoramic view of nature’s moving art. Dawn reassures us every day with the rising sun. At times it arrives with a spectacular orange glow at others dark clouds offers a stormy contrast. Either way, dawn is a daily promise of a new beginning. Birds sing a morning chorus, giving us an auditory reminder of how good it is to be alive. Each with a unique song we are reminded, ‘don’t worry, be happy’. Look up, see how birds fly high in perfect harmony, surely this is nature’s way of reminding us that ‘cooperation makes it happen’.
When you identify your Self with God, you see Divinity pervading everybody and everything. Then the notion of duality disappears‘ – His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji.
There is no end to the constant reassurances that we receive from the Power in Paying attention. By being wholly present, life takes on a wealth and richness previously unknown. We are all fully equipped to live a fun-filled, fulfilled life. It all depends on seeing everything and everyone, (especially your Self), as Divine Energy. By recognizing the One Energy within all, we attain Unity Consciousness. Unity Consciousness means being aware that we are never separated from our God Source. Therefore, what we see ‘outside’ is actually another aspect of who we are. A different view to present us with powerful insights and information. Such is the Power in Paying attention.
‘Live in the present.’ – Buddha
