MANTRAS IN MUSIC VIBRATE THROUGH EVERY HUMAN CELL AND SOUL
‘Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.’ – Berthold Auerbach (1812-1882) German-Jewish poet and author
We are all energetic beings. In fact, everything in existence is literally energy humming along as complex mix of vibrations. Each of us pulsates with unique vibrations, it’s our soul song. Our soul song adds rich vibrancy to the entire chorus within the Universal Orchestra.
Depending on our moment to moment vibration, we are either in harmony or discordant, meaning that we’re not in tune with the Universe. When in harmony, everything flows and tends to go our way. When discord develops, the ego is singing forcibly with tension, stress and anger. If life is tough, it’s because we are not in accord with Universal Harmony. The head-trip, heartless ego is generating a misguided, disruptive energy that is out of sync with Cosmic Harmony.
‘Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.’ – Buddha
In addition, to words having vibrations they have sound and meaning. The sound energy of words creates mental pictures and quite often, emotions. Words are like little packets or atomic particles that have accumulated and orbit like electrons circling a nucleus. We sing our soul song in the universal choir, and words are the instruments that give heartfelt depth and meaning to the hymns being sung.
Words Carry Their Own Weight
‘Words of love, are works of love.’ – William R. Alger, (1822-1905) American Unitarian Minister and Author
Words a packed full of all sorts of invisible energy. Let’s take the word ‘Cheetah’ for example. Its ancestry is ancient since it was first formed in Sanskrit, meaning ‘uniquely marked’. Over time, the word evolved to its present day use in English. Consequently, this word has been around for quite a while. When reading the word Cheetah, I can hear the sound of the word in my mind. Maybe you can too? I also see a picture of the animal in my minds eye. Other thoughts might pop into my head, such as the speed at which a cheetah can run. Followed by a chain of other chain link thoughts. Perhaps the love of cats makes one think of a Cheetah as a large, magnificent cat. In which case, emotion adds more color and vibrancy to the word. Even as you read these words, you are adding energy to the word ‘Cheetah’.
What Makes A Mantra So Powerful?
Words evolve and as they do, they gain greater significance and energetic influence. The energy of every word in use builds up a cohesive vibration within and surrounding the word. That word contributes creative energy to universal harmony the same way a musical note adds to a symphony.
Mantras are unique because they are packed full of uplifting pulsations, that with continuous use, can penetrate and contribute to the ascension of not only the individual but they also create a shift in the entire Universe. Mantras such as those originating in Sanskrit, are effervescent due to all the energy over great lengths of time. The accumulated longevity builds up a core of substantial ambiance. Mantras are infused with centuries of high frequency, spiritual devotion energy. This means that they are dynamic, concentrated parcels of good vibrations or God Vibrations.
Music Adds Oomph To Mantras
‘A person does not hear sound only through the ears; he hears sound through every pore of his body. It permeates the entire being, and according to its particular influence either slows or quickens the rhythm of the blood circulation; it either awakens or soothes the nervous system. It arouses a person to greater passions or it calms him by bringing him peace. According to the sound and its influence a certain effect is produced.‘ – Hazrat Inayat Khan, Mysticism of Sound
Chanting a mantra with music adds a whole new dimension to mantras. Th
at’s part of the reason that so many mantras are now incorporated into melodies. There are several advantages to singing mantras. The rhythm and melody provide an additional harmonious aspect to the mantras. Music helps the mind and body to absorb and retain the mantras, thus making it easier to learn and remember. A pleasant assembly of mantra vibrations floating through music helps absorption by both the conscious and subconscious mind.
