Knowing how to set your intentional focus you can relax and allow your Radar Attracting Search-Engine to quietly work on it. Suddenly, out of the blue things will start to pop up and wonderful things begin to happen.
Step One: Decide! What Do You Want – What’s Your Hearts Desire?
‘Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea… This is the way to success.’ – Swami Vivekananda
Right now choose one desire. You might choose whatever first comes to mind or you might choose a long-held
dream. It ought to be a thing or experience that you really want, even if it seems far-fetched or bizarre. It can be something simple or something that might seem impossible. It’s important that you want it and that you are committed to staying with it until it is attracted into your life. This desire is to prove how this simple, repeatable process is achievable. Once you know the Radar Attraction Search-Engine ropes then you can use the same steps to help you attract anything and everything.
Personal Example: My ‘one thing’ was, ‘intelligence’. I figured that if I was intelligent, then I would have the foundation for a successful life. Even though (I thought), that intelligence was my main desire, I actually believed it was impossible. In fact, I had proof as a student within the British school system in Africa. At the end of term, the ranking ‘position’ of every student, from first place to last was made public. Suffice it to say that I was the student who made everyone else look really, really clever.
Step Two: Affirm! Have a short, positive, crystal-clear statement
‘In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.’ – Dalai Lama
Your target statement is similar to a point of focus on a camera. The outcome depends on, 1) the clarity of your focus. Your statement also needs to have a particular syntax, (word order), in order to get the best results. 2) Always begin with the present tense, ‘I am’ or ‘I have’. 3) For constructive, positive results make sure the statement is positive and it captures the essence of your intention. 4) Finally and most important, what event or experience proves that you’ve achieved your desired outcome?
Personal Example: Based on the above guidelines, my statement became – ‘I am an intelligent person and I pass the Real Estate License exam the first time.’ This was an over the top, bold statement for me. Hardly anyone in California passed their real Estate license exam the first time. The test included RE law, with many Latin based legal terms. Knowledge of construction, types of houses, contracts as well as many unfamiliar concepts that seemed to be a foreign language. Therefore, if I passed that test the first time, that would prove to me that I was an intelligent person. (Besides, I secretly wanted to be a Realtor helping people buy and sell Real Estate, but did not think I had the smarts to do it.)
Step Three: Reset Your Search-Engine
‘Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently… Your life is always moving toward something.’ – Ralph Marston
Step three is a crucial extension of step two. Write your statement down! Read it first thing in the
morning and last thing at night. When reading your statement, do so with the same delicious anticipation as telling Father Christmas what you want (and are excited to get) for Christmas. The secret is to Read your statement and feel a flutter or thrill of it actually happening. This is one of the most important steps of this whole process. The mind and the emotions link up so that your RAS is absolutely clear what its new focus is. Pretty soon you will see things in a new light. That’s when you to take inspired action. As soon as your RAS starts attracting information and opportunities, you take inspired action. Without following opportunities or hunches, you will be no better than a couch potato and nothing much will happen.
How I Did It: Even though I did not believe my statement at first, every morning and night I read my statement and imagined myself jumping for joy for having passed my Real Estate license first time. I felt the diploma in my hand. I heard myself proudly announcing that I passed, first time! I made sure that I took a couple of minutes at least twice a day, sometimes more often, to focus my mind on my statement and its positive outcome. I was inspired to take a Real Estate license course at the local college. I taped the classes and listened to them every time I drove my car. It was like learning a foreign language. But eventually I started to understand the lessons. Yes, I passed my Real Estate license first time and I was one of the few Realtors selling Real Estate when interest rates were at 17%. My life just got better and better.
